Designing a Business You’ll Love Forever

Love business forever.  In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, I want to talk about the audacious idea of designing a business that you love and will love forever.

As the Queen of Sales Conversion I teach how to make irresistible offers and move people into your programs and services on-the-spot without being salesy. But an important part of the equation that a lot of people overlook is that you need to LOVE what you’ve sold, because, guess what, you have to deliver it.

A common mistake people make is they get really great at attracting and converting leads, but they don’t take enough time to contemplate if they really love delivering what they sold.

For example, let’s say a coach loves coaching and offers a $2,000 package of ten private sessions with her, and she practices our Speak-to-Sell formula on the stage and it goes really well, which it does for many people. So out of a room of 60 people, 20 take her up on her offer. Of course, it’s really fun to process $40,000 of orders from one day on the stage, but the love gets lost when she goes home and has to put 200 coaching calls into her schedule over the next 6 months! Oops…she didn’t consider the impact on her life.

To design a business that you’re going to love forever, here are 4 key questions to ask yourself to make sure that your irresistible offer serves your business and your life.

1. What is the transformation you want to provide?
What is the outcome that your clients will get from working with you?

2. How will I deliver that outcome?
What are the different structures that can deliver that transformation? And among the options, which is the one you most enjoy? For instance, do you love coaching groups by telephone? Or do you prefer to teach people live in a physical location? Would you prefer to work with people one-on-one? And, if so, do you want to do that by phone or in person?

3. Is it leveraged?
If you love one-on-one coaching, and you want to make $100,000 a year, you’ve got to be willing to do the inner work and the strategy work to get your price point up high enough to make that happen. Or, you can reconsider leveraged models like teleseminars or webinars. It’s also time to get really honest with yourself about whether you want to automate your delivery or if you prefer to keep that touch point in a live training format.

4. The biggest question of all: Do I love it?
Look back at the transformation you provide, how you’re going to deliver it, and if it’s leveraged, and make sure that you love all of those aspects. Because no matter how well you think you can hide your ambivalence, the truth is, when you get up on the stage to make your irresistible offer, people can tell if your heart’s not all in.

It behooves you to love it anyway, because, let’s face it, delivering what you sold when you made your irresistible offer equals your day-to-day life. And, who doesn’t want to love their life!
