The Power of Proximity

Tony Robbins has said, “Proximity is power,” and he’s right.

There are people who could really pop you up to a higher level of credibility or reach. But to receive that leg up, you have to gain proximity to them.

You need to show up where they are.

You can do that by attending live events where those people will be.

But the best way to gain proximity—and one that’s worked very well for my clients and me—is to invest with the person you’re looking to meet and learn from. Join their programs at levels that give you direct access so they can get to know you.

If you want people to help you, they need to experience how incredible you are.

For example I didn’t know my mastermind training director, Lisa Cherney, very well until she stepped up a few years ago and hired me for a private half-day.

By working on her business with her, I got to see how extraordinary she is and when I needed someone to help me expand my mission, I knew that she and I were aligned and that she had the skills I needed.

Now don’t go into a relationship, saying, “I’m looking for a leg up.” When you use that kind of pressure, the magic just doesn’t happen.

It’s about that person being inspired to help you.

And that can only happen if they know you and your business very well.
