5 Ways to Maximize Social Media during Live Events

Over the past 4 years of attending Lisa’s events I’ve found one of the biggest benefits is the connections you make. From fellow attendees, to sponsors, presenters and special event guests, I’ve built lifelong connections that are priceless. I’ve been happy to to help take these connections to the next level by using social media to stay in touch and maximize networking even after I’ve left the event.

The biggest hurdle for maximizing this powerful networking opportunity is getting ready for the event, and I’m not just talking about packing your bag. I’m talking about shaking off those pre-event jitters; having your business card ready; AND ensuring your phone is ready to rock social media! You with me? Let’s do this!

As you get ready to head to Speak-to-Sell Live, here’s some things you can do right now. Let’s get the fun started!

#1 Join the Facebook Community

The party starts here! Join the official Facebook event by following these simple steps:

  1. Register your ticket for Speak-to-Sell Live
  2. Jump over to the Facebook event that we created specifically for Speak-to-Sell Live.
  3. Click the “Join now” button and you’re in! Introduce yourself and get the networking started!

Easy, right?

Introduce yourself, check out everyone’s posts and join the conversation. We created this space for you.

Plus, we’ll be sharing sneak peeks, fun facts and just some great stuff here as we get closer to the event. Around here the learning starts before the event! Don’t forget your awesome pre-work training and our event-exclusive, complimentary Momentum Calls where you can ask questions and get support from two of our master coaches. #2 Instagram

Selfies, I know you’re going to 😉

Jump onto the event hashtags #SpeakToSell and #LisaSasevich to get started. Don’t forget to include your favorite industry tags to stand out there! This will be a great time to connect with new active users!

Be sure your profile is ready too! Here’s a quick Checklist:

  • Do you have your profile picture up?
  • Is your beautiful bio ready?
  • Do you have a link so everyone can learn more about you?

#3 Twitter

This always turns out to be one of the most popular places during our events because it’s quick and easy to share.

Are you new to Twitter and not sure what to share during an event? Here’s a few ideas to get your creative juices flowing:

  • Share your Ah-Ha moments as you have them
  • Say hi to a new friend, be sure to tag them too by using @ and then their user name.
  • Did you like that quote? Give it a tweet! (and remember to use the event hashtag #SpeakToSell to let everyone know you’re at the event with us!)
  • Shout out to your favorite event speakers, they love to hear from you!

We also have a special Meet & Mingle the evening before the event, which we call a Tweet Up. Everyone comes to meet fellow attendees plus some of our staff, and grab a bite to eat or a yummy drink. We all share what we’re excited about or what we’ve come to learn. Good times! If you come for early registration, be sure to add this to your calendar.

If you are new to some of these social media channels don’t feel like you have to do them ALL. We get it, it can get overwhelming! Pick one that you know and one that you maybe are wanting to learn better and just get down and dirty. The one you are still “learning or growing into” is also a great excuse to strike up a convo with a new friend.

#4 Facebook

Since you’ll be chatting on the Facebook event, let’s make sure everything’s in order with your Facebook account too.

Do a quick survey of your profile or business page, wherever you’re going to send people to connect with you.

  • Do you need to update your profile picture or your banner?
  • Do any clean up of posts or information in your About section?
  • Maybe you want to do some special posts about what you’re up to right now and what you have coming down the pipe.

Start following people or pages that you want to meet at the event. Coming prepared will boost your confidence when talking with new friends.

Be sure to stop by and “Like” our Lisa Sasevich Facebook Page. This is where all the event photos will be posted. You can stop by during the event and after to get your pictures with friends and Lisa herself! There will be hundreds of photos to look through and save to remember your experience.

#5 Pinterest, LinkedIn, YouTube and All the inbetweens!

There’s so many ways to connect online nowadays. Think of the platforms you’re active on or ones you might want to use at the event. Be sure they’re up to date and ready for action. Clear out any spam that may have crept up so you look amazing.

What would you add to this list? What are other ways you’re going to get ready for Speak-to-Sell?
