What Works and Doesn’t Work to Fill Your High-Ticket Programs

Fill-Yr-High-Ticket-Program-Jan-mid-2015.jpgFor today’s article, I’ve pulled a few pages out of the Event Profit Secrets playbook to save you a lot of time, expense, and heartache doing things that just don’t work to fill your high-ticket mastermind, mentorship, group coaching, or certification programs.

Now, when I say “high-ticket,” I’m talking about an investment of $5,000 or more. So here are those practices that don’t work.

These DON’T work:

Internet marketing campaigns, video or teleseminar launches
These product-launch campaigns work great for offers up to $2,000, maybe $3,000, but they’re generally not strong enough to fill a high-ticket program with deeply committed clients. Your ideal clients need to feel inspired enough to say yes to making a big investment of money and time in themselves, and that generally doesn’t happen from a video or preview call.

When you’re speaking on someone else’s stage, your hosts are generally looking for your offer to range between $1,000 to $3,000 — something that provides a nice revenue share and that you can seal-the-deal on during a quick break in the back of the room. Also, they probably have their own high-ticket offer, so they likely wouldn’t be keen on your taking that level of client and money out of the room.

Month-by-month program
Sometimes people break down their $18,000 yearly program into a $1,500 a month program, but the problem is that people tend not to stick. They get excited in the moment, but every month when they’re facing that $1500 payment, they have to reenroll themselves and remember, all over again, why they’re paying all that money. That’s painful, and participants tend to drop out after a few short months.

These DO work to fill your high-ticket program:

One-on-one calls, strategy or momentum sessions
Talking to prospective clients one-on-one can lead to a high-ticket sale. However, it’s very time consuming. Even if you’re successful, meaning, you’re selling 1 out of 4 or 5 calls, it can be disheartening to hear no 75% or 80% of the time. Plus, again, even if you’re successful, to fill your group with, say, 8 people, you would have to make 32 or 40 calls in a short period of time to get everyone starting at once. Without a lead generation system in place, that’s difficult to pull off for a lot of people.

So what practice do I recommend?

#1 – above everything else… Host your own live event, workshop, retreat or seminar
The very best way to fill your high-ticket mentorship, mastermind, group coaching or certification program is to host a live event, where you set the agenda. You structure the teaching so that you give tremendous value but also leave them hungry for that next level work you offer.

That event doesn’t have to be large. Graduates of Event Profit Secrets are out there putting 2, 10, 13, 28 people in a room for a three-day experience, and walking away with 5 and 6 figures and the most amazing clients, whom they are excited to serve.
