How to Fill Your Workshops and Live Events with Perfect Prospects

When attendees walk through the doors of your live event for the first time it’s an instant rush and a warm welcome to your brand and business. You’ve probably heard me talk about 2D and 3D communities, where live events or workshops take the tribe you’ve built to a whole new level. When you all get together in one room, share some hugs, deepen content and create great experiences you’re building long lasting relationships and unforgettable experiences.

Building your own 3D community through education based workshops is one of the most powerful strategies I use for growth – especially in this economy! Live events are a driving force in my business and I am blessed to say our events have sold out since 2009.

In a recent chat with Callan Rush she shared the latest research indicates that women are either making or directly influencing over 80% of consumer purchasing decisions right now. And female consumers love to gather in groups at workshops and seminars!

You can see the success of this model by just taking a look back at successful,‘women centred’ companies who use the workshops model as a business building tool, Mary Kay, Weight Watchers and our very own eWomen Network have successfully gathered women for the purpose of education, inspiration, and commerce for many years.

I get it, you are reading along and wondering – Lisa, but how? How do I get an audience to my workshop? Afterall, the most challenging aspect of using workshops as a business building tool is creating demand and “magnetizing your audience”!

There are only a couple of top people in the space who have similar event prowess as I do, and Callan Rush is in that group of event game changers. I personally collaborate with her and her co-founder, Justin Livingston, behind the scenes. Together they teach 7 ways to fill your live events:

  1. Speaking Engagements
  2. Live Self-Hosted Introductory Workshops
  3. Webinars
  4. Teleclasses
  5. Video Series
  6. Livecasts
  7. Strategy Sessions

By filling your live event I mean getting people to raise their hand, say yes to themselves and show up for your amazing workshop! Today let’s focus on 2 of these that I love to use on a regular basis to consistently attract a room full of people to a business and life changing event.

Speaking Engagements
When you’re speak in front of an audience, the people who are there, whether 20 or 200 or more, are more often than not your target audience. Even if you’re not making an offer for a product or service you can offer a free gift like a ticket to your event. That’s why capturing ,their first name and their email address to stay in touch is key.

You can send them your ezine, follow up and continue to keep them posted as you develop your events and send them reminders. Remember, it’s important to continue to provide them with value and stay top of their mind.

Webinars and Teleseminars
Similar to live stages, webinars and teleseminars can be done from anywhere and at a time convenient to you. Gather a group of high qualified prospects on the line or on the web for 60 to 90 minutes and teach a hot topic that guilds everyone right to your live event offer at the end of the call.
