How Speaking-to-Sell Dollars Add Up Quickly

STS DollarsA lot of people are out there trying to get $500 or $5,000 upfront for a speaking gig, and I want to show you today how quickly speaking for free and selling your products in the back of the room can add up and be much more profitable.

Imagine a room of 50 people. Here you come with your $497 product or teleseminar or series of one-on-one coaching calls. You’ve done the work to learn how to convert a room (i.e., you’ve taken my Speak-to-Sell course), and let’s say you have a light day and convert 10% of the room.

That’s five sales at approximately $500 for a total of $2,500.

Here’s my question: Do you think you could have commanded a $2,500 fee to speak to a room of 50 people?

Most people can’t.

Even in the rare case when a promoter in a room that small would ask you to split your profits 50/50, you still would make $1,250. That’s much more than most people could command when speaking to a 50-person room.

This is why I love speaking-to-sell. I get to get in front of my audience, build my list, help people, and make much better money than most people who are prepaid to speak.

If you want to follow my lead and make great money speaking-to-sell, here are a couple of things you need to start your career:

1. You need a topic that moves and inspires people that you can capture in a hooky talk title. “Hooky” means it’s instantly appealing and easy to remember. The secret to a hooky title is that it clearly states the transformation the audience will experience as a result of attending. For example, my talk title: “Boost Sales Using Irresistible Offers” has been drawing crowds for more than three years!

2. You need a speaker summary sheet that you can quickly and easily provide to organizations you want to speak to. The summary sheet includes your bio, a 250-word summary of your talk and your picture. The great news is it doesn’t have to be fancy. You can even send it out by email.

3. You need to be ready with a signature talk that sells. You can’t just tack an offer onto a keynote presentation. That won’t work. A Speak-to-Sell talk is specifically designed to give the audience great content and lead them to the offer without being salesy.

Of course, I need about three days to show you how to do all of that. So, if you want to learn how to make an Invisible Close Speak-to-Sell presentation that gives terrific content, sells and leaves you and your audience feeling great, join me in June for my Speak-to-Sell Bootcamp or simulcast option
