It’s Speak-to-Sell season around here, so I thought I’d share with you two order form tips that could be worth thousands.
Tip 1. Throw it out.
If you haven’t standardized your offer yet and you’re still tweaking it here and there, be sure to throw away your extra order forms after each event.
Some of the biggest disasters I’ve seen are when somebody saved their old order forms, and some well-meaning helper grabs the old version and the new version and both get passed out!
So you’re up on stage going through your offer and the audience members who got the old version are confused, and you just lost a lot of sales.
Tip 2. Make it an NCR.
When you’re printing your new order forms, be sure to get them NCR, no carbon required. They’ll come with a white, yellow and pink copy, and they’ll make you look very professional.
People will figure you have thousands of them in your garage and you’ve been doing this for years. When, in fact, you made them yesterday on your home computer and paid Kinko’s 33 cents a piece on a 24-hour turnaround. So if you’re doing a 50-person gig, you paid $16.50 plus tax.
That’s a really small price to pay to enhance your credibility.
