A big mistake I see speakers make is when they don’t put an offer form into every person’s hand.
Instead, the audience has to rush to the back of the room to get their form and sign up.
I see two problems with that.
1. It can be confusing. When you’re explaining your offer, you may be going faster or slower than people can assimilate. So, if they don’t have an order form to help them follow along, they may get lost or confused.
Remember, a confused mind doesn’t buy.
2. People may leave. I did that once. I went to the back table interested in a program that cost $13,000, but people were already being helped and there wasn’t enough staff. I couldn’t get a pen. I couldn’t get an order form. I waited and waited, and then I left.
I told myself I’d come back after lunch. But, guess what, I didn’t. I talked myself out of the investment.
Who knows what would have happened if I’d had an order form in my hand, sat in my chair, filled it out and thrown it across the table with my credit card?
The speaker would have made another $13,000 in sales, and I would received the transformation I’d felt was possible. See, that’s the thing. When you don’t make it easy for people to buy, you lose and your prospects lose too.
So, the next time you speak to sell, get those order forms into every hand.
Great comment Lisa, that we have to make it easy or they won’t buy. I also like that you pointed out that a lost sale is bad for both the seller and the customer who wanted to product.
Thank you for this super tip!
