3 Keys to Finding Your Marketing Sweet Spot

Finding-Yr-Marketing-Sweet-Spot-March-26th.jpgHere are those 3 keys from Juicy Marketing Expert Lisa Cherney to getting clear and finding your Marketing Sweet Spot:

  1. Claim your Ideal Client
More specific than a target market or niche, your Ideal Client is a laser-focused description of exactly who you want to serve, and who would most benefit from working with you.

For example, a chiropractor client of Lisa Cherney’s told her that his Ideal Client was “anyone with a spine.” She pointed out that not everyone with a spine needs chiropractic services, and not everyone who needs an adjustment is able or willing to pay for it.

Turns out, his Ideal Client is actually someone who suffers from spinal discomfort, is open to his method of treatment, is willing and able to pay for the service, and will follow his recommendations, so he can fulfill his purpose and help them feel better.

Once he was able to get specific and honest about who he wanted to serve, he found the clarity and the words to connect with them.

When you know who your Ideal Client is and where to find them, then figure out the best strategy to get their attention.

  1. Know where they hang out
Find out where your Ideal Clients go and what they do. If you’re a personal trainer don’t just say “fitness centers.” Instead, specify whether that’s a yoga studio, a Pilates center, cross-training gym or somewhere else.
  2. Decide how you want to show up
When you know who your Ideal Client is and where to find them, you then figure out the best strategy for you to get their attention.

As that personal trainer, if you have determined that your Ideal Client can be found at yoga studios, you can probably identify about 15 different ways to show up in that space (give a free presentation, post flyers, host a workshop, etc.).

Now, don’t fall into the trap of trying to show up in all 15 ways. Most of them will only zap your time, energy and money and give you almost nothing in return.

Instead, choose one or two that you LOVE, and that really work best for YOU, and then invest your focused energy, time and money there.
