It’s been said that all the world’s a stage—and that’s never been truer than in today’s interconnected digital world.
Today’s guest understands that a stage is absolutely critical for everyone with a message or a product to share with the world! For over 13 years, our guest Pete Vargas has promoted speakers with a deep purpose and a vital message.
Through his passion and dedication, Pete founded Advance Your Reach and has developed a marquee team of speakers, marketers and support staff who share his vision of impacting 70 million people across seven spheres of social influence.
Today Pete is going to show us how to get paid to sell, what a scalable stage is, and how you can get your host to hand you the audience’s contact information in one fell swoop! 🙂 You aren’t going to want to miss this incredibly powerful season finale episode… We truly pulled out all the stops, and Pete shares some absolute gold in this interview! Check it out here, and give us a review if you like what you hear!
Key Topics from this Episode:
- One of the most powerful and heart-wrenching speakers Pete has listened to was the father of the first young woman killed in the Columbine shootings. At the end of his talk he challenged his audience to do this one thing, and Pete challenges our audience to do the same – “Find the five people in your life who you love so deeply and tell them how much you love them, because you never know how long you have on this earth. Some of you know that you have people you need to make things right with, and I want you to do that.”
- Here is a HUGE perspective-shifting takeaway from Pete – What you offer can transform people’s lives; their families, their businesses, their relationships, everything. It is a disservice to keep your message inside of you!
- It isn’t about the stage, it’s about what you have to offer past the stage – the deeper people can go into your product and services, the more their life can transform
- All of you have something to offer, and it’s up to you to see that and then take action to get it out to the world!
- Quit living stage-to-stage! Find scalable stages where the people in the audience are the decision-makers for the products and services or high-ticket items that you have to offer
- Keynote or “paid to speak” speaking doesn’t allow for a sales offer, but you can get paid for those stages! The difference is that you’re marketing to the event planner, not the audience – so think like the event planner, and give them a glimpse of what you offer beforehand! (HINT: You’ve GOT to check out Pete’s free gift, which dives into how to do all of this!)
- Pay attention, because this is GOLD… Once you land a paid-to-speak stage, let the event planner know that you have an incredible gift that you normally charge for, but that you want to give to every one of their attendees for free (think $10 ebook, $50 digital training segment, etc) – make it something that solves a problem their audience has! Offer to give something out before the event and after… 30-40% of the time, Pete gets the entire audience contact list before he even arrives onsite!!
- Listen to the episode for Pete’s strategy on how to get crazy attendance percentages for your talk segment, and cultivate a huge number of potential clients for follow-up nurturing!
- The key is showing up to serve, and providing something that actually solves a problem for their audience
- When you don’t get the audience contact list ahead of time, give a gift the day of – offer a contact card and a text optin for people to grab the free gift! (NOTE: Beyond the space to fill in their contact information, the only question on the card should be a checkbox asking if they are interested in your products a services)
